Tower Lab Demo Patch Notes
Numbered demo changes, not a 1.0 recap. Early Access on September 7, 2026 will start a new patch clock.
Tower Lab is not patched as a live 1.0 product yet. Steam Early Access is scheduled for September 7, 2026. Everything on this page is demo and playtest history: version labels Steam actually published, cards that were added, and the June 2026 rebalance that still shapes Region 1. After launch, treat Steam news as the live clock and this page as the archive until a numbered EA patch exists.
Use the Early Access notes for the store FAQ list. Use the roadmap for 1.0 promises. Use this desk when you need the date a Tesla left the starter deck.
Timeline you can quote
October 21, 2025 — v0.0.2 / first Steam playtest window. Community playtests opened around this period. Treat footage from then as older than the demo.
January 4, 2026 — progress update. Deckbuilding overhaul: shop card removal and rerolls, a deck UI with draw pile, discard, and full deck, randomized starting decks. New enemy language included Copper as an extremely heavy, electrically vulnerable body. Tesla’s 3x knockback on Copper is from this era of notes. Details live on enemies and materials.
January 23, 2026 — demo v0.0.4. Public demo live. Steam copy said multiple standard stages, Endless, and leaderboards. Twelve interface languages were listed for that demo build.
February 1, 2026 — demo patch v0.0.4.1. Right-click tower context menu to sell and view tower info after placement. Endless wave progression and shop occurrence fixed so Endless did not skip its own loop.
June 20, 2026 — demo patch (cards and rebalance). Gameplay: enemy pathing physics overhaul; Conversion Field reworked to double Matter for one wave instead of instant Matter; Kinetic Tower projectiles reverted so their pulse no longer pushed them apart. Content: utility cards Aftershock, Arc Discharge, Gravity Dampener, Black Ice. QoL: tower info button on the right-click menu to open the tech tree. Bugfix: Fan capstone, Tesla capstone, enemies that could stop pathing, upgraded Gravity capturing units permanently (projectile lifetime rebalance). Balance: full rebalance of enemies, waves, towers, and economy; Tesla, Salvage, and Hot Swap removed from the Region 1 starting deck.
June 29, 2026 — demo taken down. The public demo ended about a week after that patch, ahead of Early Access. Steam had listed the demo at 95% positive from 44 reviews.
August 24, 2026 — Early Access date announcement. September 7, 2026. Store FAQ content list is the launch target this wiki copies on Early Access.
September 7, 2026 — Early Access (scheduled). No live EA patch number exists on this page until Steam publishes one.
What those patches change on this wiki
Starter decks cannot assume Tesla in Region 1. That is a June 20 fact, not a style choice. Starter decks and getting started already warn about it.
Gravity is a hold, not a permanent prison. The capture bugfix is why physics basics tells you a well that never releases is not a win.
Conversion Field is a wave multiplier, not an instant Matter button. Matter farming should not teach the old instant convert.
Utility names you can quote without inventing: Aftershock, Arc Discharge, Gravity Dampener, Black Ice, plus Salvage and Hot Swap as cards that left the Region 1 opener. The EA store list counts eight utility cards and seven physics-effect cards. Demo collection screens were smaller. Prefer the store counts for launch.
Right-click is the post-placement menu: sell, info, tech tree. Controls is the HUD list; this page is why that menu exists.
How to read the next patch
When Early Access opens, a new note should answer four questions:
- Did Region 1 starters change again?
- Did Matter prices or Conversion Field change?
- Did a cube capstone break, the way Fan and Tesla did in June?
- Did Workshop tooling or Endless leaderboard categories move?
If the answer is yes, update the matching wiki page, not only this archive. Cube changes go to the tower roster. Economy changes go to matter farming. Mode changes go to campaign or workshop. Rankings on the tier list wait until you have played the patch.
This wiki is unofficial. Steam news and Discord, listed on community links, win every disagreement. Do not mark the game as already unlocked in your own notes until the store date is real.
Keep this page dated. A patch desk that pretends June 2026 is still the live client is how wikis rot.
